Educational topics should be flexible and grow with our widening horizons and interests.In college and university, we are taught to be good at one thing, get a certificate, stop learning and pursue a predefined career. Too often, this leads to a "mid-life crisis" or pensioners without much of a clue what to do with their newfound time.Unfortunately, it will get worse for many of us before it gets better because many of the jobs we studied so hard for are becoming obsolete. AI can do these jobs more efficiently and accurately at a fraction of the cost and without needing a bathroom break or holidays.I know that doesn't sound like an uplifting intro to an uplifting article, but can you see the enormous potential in all of this? Well, perhaps the Custom Domes could even remedy this. Imagine a group of developers and designers got together and created a Dome where upon entering, your character would morph into a fantasy figure; you could walk to the stables, mount your dragon and fly to a virtual Comic Con within the Cornucopias Metaverse! You could charge a small entry fee like any Comic Con. The characters and mounts would be tradable and configurable NFTs, and within the custom fantasy Dome, there would be adventures and quests to be discovered and achievements to unlock that would reflect back into the larger ecoverse of the Cornucopias Metaverse. Does that sound like a fun way to earn an income?</li> <li aria-level="1">Imagine this. Your Custom Dome is a cross-chain portal into all the other Metaverse projects out there!!</li></ol>Imagine you could program a Metaverse transfer service.In the future, millions, if not billions, of people will have characters in multiple Metaverses, and they will want to easily get from one to the other. Imagine a player in the Cornucopias Metaverse intends to visit the Sandbox Metaverse. They fly with a Bubble Jet or public transport to your Custom Dome, pay an entry fee, and are now in a massive, colorful futuristic airport/spaceport with shopping malls, galleries, and gates.&nbsp;Each gate is a portal/wormhole to another Metaverse!! Upon entering the gate, your character is automatically transformed into the character you last saved in the Metaverse you are traveling to. While passing through your central Portal Hub on their way from one Metaverse to another, they can stroll through the shopping mall and buy a t-shirt souvenir, meet a friend in the nightclub in the Custom Dome next door, or what about a quick game of capture the flag in the PVP Arena?!Ahhhh, this is all getting too creative to be true, but could it be the future? And does Cornucopias have a chance of being a part of this future?I think so, very much so. <h2>Enabling Disruption</h2>Remember the fax machine? Most people my age have never even used one. Do you still call a taxi firm to book your ride or do you simply open your Uber app? When was the last time you wrote a bank cheque or dialed up the Internet?Things change pretty fast, and standard practice is now yesterday’s news. Netflix has replaced the video store. Airbnb challenges the hotel sector. Amazon has changed the retail landscape.And Wikipedia rattles libraries.<h2>Societal Disruption</h2>Each of these is an example of 'Disruption'. Would it surprise you to know that it was founded in 1994? Or that Netflix began in '97? Airbnb started in '08. Practices we employ every day and are habitual within society were actually founded years before they ascended into the mainstream. Moreover, it's reasonable to assume that more epic industry disruptions are happening right under our noses. There is, however, one institution that has so far been relatively immune to disruption: the banking system. Crypto provides an electronic peer-to-peer cash system that renders intermediary banks redundant. Cash and cheques are soon to become unnecessary and redundant, banks becoming simply buildings stocked with paper. Founded in 2009, Bitcoin has created a technology that heralds disintermediation, personal control, portable data, and transparent records. Foresight tells us this will create a disruption of the banking paradigm.<h2>Gaming Disruption</h2>The gaming industry is beloved by billions of people across the world and has always experienced its fair share of disruption. We saw this when early arcade machines were replaced by the Atari, Nintendo, Playstation, and now VR. This process continues today. Through a marriage of blockchain and gaming, another disruption is on the horizon. Games such as Cornucopias, have the vision to bring freedom, power, autonomy, and new economics to the players themselves. The ambition is to create a cutting-edge metaverse experience through immersive gameplay, an exciting story, exceptional artwork, and innovative economics. For the first time, players can own, buy and sell NFTs and in-game assets which enrich the player experience of the game. These are big ideas, even for digital natives. The future of gaming will leverage cryptocurrency and more specifically, NFTs as a game dynamic that truly benefits the players.Unfortunately, the traditional gaming community has so far recoiled at the mere mention of NFTs. In fact, fiery fan backlash has led to multiple gaming studios distancing themselves from NFT projects, and in some cases, canceling them altogether.&nbsp;One such example is Playtonic, a UK-based video game developer behind popular titles such as Yooka Laylee &amp; Demon Turf. In February 2022, Playtronic put out <a href="https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames/status/1488529331223728133" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-href="https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames/status/1488529331223728133">a statement denouncing NFTs</a> on their official Twitter account:<h5 >“To our community,</h5><h5 >We have no interest in utilizing NFTs in any aspect of our business now or in [sic] future. And perhaps with good reason.The pushback really boils down to distrust of the gaming companies’ intent. Done improperly, NFT’s can squeeze ongoing payments from customers who have already purchased the game. But when properly deployed, NFT’s can enhance the game’s user experience and increase the game’s value through real-life financial benefit. Again, the differentiation is the gaming company’s intentYet in all of this, it is easy to forget just how early Cornucopians are to this emerging movement. The truth is that many sectors of society will soon come to integrate NFT technology despite any initial resistance. The overlap between blockchain and gaming is a natural entry point for NFT adoption within one of the most profitable and popular markets on Earth.&nbsp;However, it is clear that this will come with tremendous challenges.<hr/><h2>NFT adoption is only for the&nbsp;bold.</h2>Platonic is far from the only company in the video game industry that has openly distanced itself from NFTs. Let's not forget the draw of hanging out with friends and socialising online!<h5>Sandbox&nbsp;</h5>The Sandbox is a virtual world where players can play, build, own, and monetize their virtual experiences. This title has a Minecraft-esk aesthetic and empowers the players to build the platform they always envisioned, providing the means to unleash your creativity.&nbsp;The developers vision is to offer a deeply immersive metaverse in which virtual worlds and games will be created collaboratively and without central authority. As it stands this game has an impressive list of partnerships such as Atari, Square Enix and even The Smurfs. Effectively, players can dive into a Smurf World created by other players and not the devs.&nbsp;&nbsp;SAND is the main utility token that serves as the basis for transactions within the game. Like Decentraland this token is powered by the Ethereum blockchain. SAND can then be used to purchase in-game NFT’s to enhance players' individuality and customisation. In addition, the Sandbox introduces the VoxEdit NFT builder for building voxel game assets. This allows players to create their own NFT’s such as models and animations to share in the world!<h5>Cornucopias</h5>The newest and most innovative title on the horizon goes by the name of Cornucopias. This title is a AAA free to play multiplayer world where players explore the lands and socialise within the virtual community. Furthermore, play to earn features are introduced in the form of mini games so players can build rewards which convert into real world value.Players start their adventure by selecting their avatar and hit the ground running. However, the possibility of customisation is endless through the use of NFT’s. Cosmetic packs are provided in the form of baseball cards each with their own attributes and aesthetic. You can pose as a rugged cowboy or a badass street fighter character! You're limited only by your creativity!&nbsp;The game is divided into diverse island zones each with their own unique theme. At the center lies a vast New York City style area which operates as the central hub and living space for the players. The surrounding area provides versatile landscapes from lush Samurai Gardens, Medieval Castles to the Wild West and Pirate Towns. Like Decentraland users have the opportunity to purchase digital land and build valuable real estate. This land can be used to showcase their creativity and build themed structures of their own. Some players may choose to create in-game casinos and racetracks giving the opportunity for passive income. Businesses can also buy this land to showcase new incentives and it's an exciting new platform to hold digital events. For instance, Ticketmaster can hold an event to display the lists of gigs they have for sale. Users can engage with the environment and watch content to get a feel for the tickets they're buying.&nbsp;&nbsp;Like the previous games Cornucopias is built upon NFT technology allowing players to buy, trade and sell in-game collectables. All of which has the potential for significant real world value. What makes this title unique is the fact it's powered by Cardano ADA. What makes Cardano ADA unique is its governance model. This ensures true democracy in which individuals are incentivized to play a role and votes are immutably recorded. It is a way to redistribute control and for token holders to decide the future of a platform.This model is put into effect through schemes such as Voltaire, Cardona Improvement Proposals (CIPs) and Funding Proposals (FPs). Here, the Cardano treasury fund is made available to the community. The community then has the opportunity to propose their projects to a decentralized committee of community members for approval. User accounts can then interact with a smart contract by submitting transactions that execute a function defined on the smart contract. Smart contracts can define rules, like a regular contract, and automatically enforce them via the code. This automated system enhances communication and workflow because of its accuracy and transparency.As seen above Axie Infinity, Sandbox and Decentraland are all powered on the Ethereum Blockchain.&nbsp; On the other hand, Cornucopias is supported by the third generation crypto in the form of Cardano ADA, which develops these smart contracts further by learning from the flaws and capitalising on the benefits of the previous generation.High demand in Ethereum means an increase in transaction fees and an increase in the disk space needed to run this network. Furthermore, Ethereum's cryptography is known as gas. The more complicated computations become the more gas a program will need. Effectively this overload in the required resources creates environmental impacts.In addition, Ethereum can only process roughly 15 transactions per second, causing network congestion. In contrast, Cardano has been engineered to be more scalable and can support 257 transactions per second to make contract interactions cheaper and faster.&nbsp;Cardano uses a system known as DID or Decentralised Identity Documents. This significantly limits the amount of personal information required from users to interact on the network. For instance, Ethereum would request to know a name, address and contact info from clients. On the other hand, Cardano will only request for your Country and confirmation that you are over 18. This increases security and user confidence.&nbsp;&nbsp;To conclude, we can see Ethereum is a powerful force in the blockchain space and supports the early stages of the play to earn revolution. This includes the fun titles such Axie Infinity, Decentraland and Sandbox. On the other hand, Cardano ADA is one of the most environmentally friendly cryptocurrencies which creates a more sustainable future.
