Life should be much more than working, eating, sleeping, paying taxes, and dying.It begins at school with a strict curriculum, and students sorted by age instead of skill and curiosity. Educational topics should be flexible and grow with our widening horizons and interests.In college and university, we are taught to be good at one thing, get a certificate, stop learning and pursue a predefined career. Too often, this leads to a "mid-life crisis" or pensioners without much of a clue what to do with their newfound time.Unfortunately, it will get worse for many of us before it gets better because many of the jobs we studied so hard for are becoming obsolete. AI can do these jobs more efficiently and accurately at a fraction of the cost and without needing a bathroom break or holidays.I know that doesn't sound like an uplifting intro to an uplifting article, but can you see the enormous potential in all of this? If your imagination is holding out on you, here are two things I would like to see realized in a Custom Domes.<ol> <li aria-level="1">In a previous article on Cornucopias, I stated that dragon mounts are the only thing missing in Cornucopias". Well, perhaps the Custom Domes could even remedy this. Imagine a group of developers and designers got together and created a Dome where upon entering, your character would morph into a fantasy figure; you could walk to the stables, mount your dragon and fly to a virtual Comic Con within the Cornucopias Metaverse! You could charge a small entry fee like any Comic Con. The characters and mounts would be tradable and configurable NFTs, and within the custom fantasy Dome, there would be adventures and quests to be discovered and achievements to unlock that would reflect back into the larger ecoverse of the Cornucopias Metaverse. Does that sound like a fun way to earn an income?</li> <li aria-level="1">Imagine this. Your Custom Dome is a cross-chain portal into all the other Metaverse projects out there!!</li></ol>Imagine you could program a Metaverse transfer service.In the future, millions, if not billions, of people will have characters in multiple Metaverses, and they will want to easily get from one to the other. Imagine a player in the Cornucopias Metaverse intends to visit the Sandbox Metaverse. They fly with a Bubble Jet or public transport to your Custom Dome, pay an entry fee, and are now in a massive, colorful futuristic airport/spaceport with shopping malls, galleries, and gates.&nbsp;Each gate is a portal/wormhole to another Metaverse!! Upon entering the gate, your character is automatically transformed into the character you last saved in the Metaverse you are traveling to. While passing through your central Portal Hub on their way from one Metaverse to another, they can stroll through the shopping mall and buy a t-shirt souvenir, meet a friend in the nightclub in the Custom Dome next door, or what about a quick game of capture the flag in the PVP Arena?!Ahhhh, this is all getting too creative to be true, but could it be the future? And does Cornucopias have a chance of being a part of this future?I think so, very much so. <h2>Enabling Disruption</h2>Remember the fax machine? Most people my age have never even used one. Do you still call a taxi firm to book your ride or do you simply open your Uber app? When was the last time you wrote a bank cheque or dialed up the Internet?Things change pretty fast, and standard practice is now yesterday’s news. Netflix has replaced the video store. Airbnb challenges the hotel sector. Amazon has changed the retail landscape.And Wikipedia rattles libraries.<h2>Societal Disruption</h2>Each of these is an example of 'Disruption'. This term was coined by Larry Downes and describes the concept as 'major marketplace changes or sector transformation following the application of technology. We are so used to these companies and practices, that it feels as though we have always used them. This isn't the case, however, and innovation does not occur overnight. Take Amazon for example. Would it surprise you to know that it was founded in 1994? Or that Netflix began in '97? Airbnb started in '08. Practices we employ every day and are habitual within society were actually founded years before they ascended into the mainstream. Moreover, it's reasonable to assume that more epic industry disruptions are happening right under our noses. There is, however, one institution that has so far been relatively immune to disruption: the banking system. Crypto provides an electronic peer-to-peer cash system that renders intermediary banks redundant. Cash and cheques are soon to become unnecessary and redundant, banks becoming simply buildings stocked with paper. Founded in 2009, Bitcoin has created a technology that heralds disintermediation, personal control, portable data, and transparent records. Foresight tells us this will create a disruption of the banking paradigm.<h2>Gaming Disruption</h2>The gaming industry is beloved by billions of people across the world and has always experienced its fair share of disruption. We saw this when early arcade machines were replaced by the Atari, Nintendo, Playstation, and now VR. This process continues today. Through a marriage of blockchain and gaming, another disruption is on the horizon. Games such as Cornucopias, have the vision to bring freedom, power, autonomy, and new economics to the players themselves. The ambition is to create a cutting-edge metaverse experience through immersive gameplay, an exciting story, exceptional artwork, and innovative economics. For the first time, players can own, buy and sell NFTs and in-game assets which enrich the player experience of the game. These are big ideas, even for digital natives. Together we’ve prepared the Cornucopias’ NFT delivery system to meet the huge market demand for our gaming NFTs. If everything goes well, these are the steps you need to follow to mint a Cornucopias’ gaming NFT:<ul><li>Step 1: Once the sale is live, you can connect your NAMI or CCvault browser extension wallet <a href="https://mint.cornucopias.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">directly to the mint page</a>. If anything does occur, please remain patient and watch Cornucopias’ official communication channels for updates and/or emergency measures.  <hr/><h2>Lockdown protocols before the mint.</h2>It is highly possible that there may be wave after wave of scammers that flood Cornucopias’ official Discord, Telegram, and other communication lines. Our first mint was bombarded by an army of scammers spamming links to a fake sale page. There was even a scammer who dared to impersonate MATT (Indiana Jones#1587) on Discord! Do not be fooled by scammers. Do not let anyone you know be fooled by scammers. We are the Corn Fam, and we need to have each other’s backs. Remember, watch out for scammers, and please... DO NOT SEND ADA TO THE MINT ADDRESS (OR ANY OTHER ADDRESS FOR THAT MATTER)! In order to protect the community from scammers, each communication channel has developed the following lockdown protocols. Please familiarize yourself with them. Discord Lockdown Protocol: All Discord channels will enter slow mode 2 hrs before the NFT sale. We have implemented every possible technical solution to overcome the issues that plagued our first mint, but it’s just as important to keep the community’s morale safe from negative actors. We’ve made the decision to bypass any WordPress site layers and funnel minters directly to our NFT delivery system hosted by Derp Birds. This should prevent the frustration many users experienced during our first mint when the landing page hosted by Cornuopias.io crashed. We have also load-tested our NFT delivery system with a much higher volume of test minters to ensure it can withstand the demand, however, the demand is variable. It is not possible to test millions of API calls and all variables when the demand gets as high as we anticipate it is going to be. As the mint progresses, the Cornucopias Communication Team will provide updates. There were two bottlenecks on our databases caused by the massive influx of visitors. Throughout the sale’s duration, our website received 7.2 million API calls!Without getting too technical, our systems were simply overloaded at the starting gate. Even with real-time adjustments, it took a while to get back up to full speed.On the bright side, the collective demand for Cornucopias’ NFTs is no longer speculative. It is real, and it will take our metaverse project camping on the beaches of the moon.<hr/><h2>Y’all are legendary, and it was a glorious battle!</h2> If you minted a limited First Edition Bubblejett Sprinter take a moment to celebrate your victory. The mint survived waves of scammers and many thousands of people, who crashed the landing page. A direct link to the mint had to be fired off at the last moment. It was an emergency decision that provided a new entry point into the sale within minutes of the landing page crashing. As soon as problems emerged, the Cornucopias &amp; Derp Birds teams, who were on a live call together, were able to troubleshoot and take action. Despite the market frenzy, our systems did not go down, and we did not have to cancel the mint. By the end of the sale, things were moving along very quickly. This mint was a stunning success from an NFT sale perspective. It was also a powerful learning experience from a UX point of view. We’ve learned from our mistakes, and we are committed to making the next sale as smooth and painless as possible.<hr/><h2>Now let’s focus on why everyone should be ECSTATIC. </h2>Despite the difficult mint, 11,900 Bubblejett Sprinters priced at 120 ADA each were completely sold out. Cornucopias’ first-ever sale raised over 1.3 million ADA in about 3 ½ hours. These funds will be used operationally to increase the already blistering development pace and accelerate the support team’s growth.
